Fixes for No Audio issue on iPhone XS Max

Check if Your iPhone is Mute or Silent

Simple things often go unnoticed. At times we put our phone on silent or mute and then forget to turn it back to ringer mode. If there is a software issue, then this could affect your speaker. Therefore toggle the switch and put it back to the ringer mode to check if your issue has been solved.

Check if the Volume is Right

If you are having difficulty in hearing someone over the call or you cannot hear their voice at all, then you should check the volume control. At times if the volume is at the lowest, then you would not be able to hear the person on the other side of the phone. Increase the volume to check if the speaker is working as it was earlier. The volume button is at the side you can toggle it up and down to adjust the control.

Restart Your iPhone XS Max

Software glitches can at times hinder the performance of certain features. However, such issues are quite temporary and can easily be corrected. A simple restart can help you fix the issue.

  • Press and hold the Power button or the Volume button for a couple of seconds and then release when the Slide to Power Off menu appears.
  • Drag the slider towards the right. This will turn off the iPhone XS Max.
  • Wait for 30 seconds and then restart it. Press the Power button again and hold till you see the Apple logo, and then let go of it.

Erroneous temporary files that are stored in the cache of your phone or any type of corrupted data that is present in it will be cleared. A restart also clears the app memory and gives your phone a boost. A restart mostly fixes small issues such as this.

Check the Sound Settings of Your iPhone XS Max

Check the sound settings of your phone to see if it is causing the iPhone XS sound issues. If Do Not Disturb or DND feature is activated on your smartphone, then notifications, alerts, calls, etc. are all silenced. Unless you turn off the DND, the mentioned features will remain silenced.

  • Go to Settings
  • Scroll and select Do Not Disturb
  • If Do Not Disturb button is enabled then toggle it OFF
