Apple iPhone 12 Pro and other models are among the best smartphones you can buy in 2020. Last week, Apple announced its much-awaited iPhone 12 series and the internet is flooded with reviews and tips and tricks.
For the first time, Apple announces four iPhone models and all are 5G supported. It is also for the first time that Apple launched a 5G device.
Among the four models, iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are already available for sale while the other models iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 pro Max will be available for sale in November.
Both iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are almost similar in specs but the Pro model comes with few more options. Among those options, the most notable one is the triple rear cameras and a LiDar scanner at the back. The standard iPhone 12 doesn’t come with the triple rear cameras and a LiDar Scanner.
The Lidar scanner in the Apple iPhone 12 Pro is capable of measuring person height. Well, that’s something interesting and worth mentioning it.
Apple iPhone 12 Pro LiDar Scanner:
The LiDar scanner is added in the Pro models to increase the AR experiences in the device. But, these sensors can achieve another unique and interesting thing.
Users can measure persons’ height using the measure app with the help of the LiDar Scanner. Apple claims that users can measure the other person’s height even when he/she is sitting in a chair.
When you open the measure app and point it to the other person, it will detect the height of the person from toe to head/hair/hat.
To use this functionality, open the measure app and allow the person whose height you want to measure the surface on the screen. Remember that the person will surface on the screen from head to toe. After a few seconds, a line will be seen on the person with his/her height appearing on the top of the person. The measurement is done in English or metric system, as you have the option to choose between them. You can choose the measurement system by going into the settings then measurements and then measurements units. The value of measurement will be shown in feet/inches/centimeters as you can choose between them.
You can also take pictures of the person with their height measurement in the measure app and share it easily with that person.
The LiDar scanner is only available in the Pro models. It means you can get it in Apple iPhone 12 Pro, Pro Max and iPad Pro 2020 models.
