Apple is praised for not just its reliable security features and policies, but for also pushing software updates for after years. For instance, Android phones excluding Pixel handsets have an average software updates term of two years, after which the OEM ignores sending any essential feature updates.

But in Apple, the company is committed to push not just feature updates, but also security updates whenever needed. And the latest iOS 14 have some notable features to tune iPhones more productive. While Apple started rolling out iOS 14 just a couple of months back, rumors about the next iteration of iOS started pouring out already.

While there are minimal leaks about iOS 15 just yet, a report by The Verifier, an Israeli blog claims that iOS 15 will be rolled out to only iPhone 7 and later handsets. This means Apple will drop support for one of the most popular series – the iPhone 6s. The iPhone 6s series contains two handsets of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, launched in September of 2015.

Also, the iPhone SE first generation too will be dumped this time, which was launched in March of 2016. These are reasoned for running on Apple’s A9 Bionic processor, which is outdated and may not support the advanced security Apple iOS 15 brings in.

Also, the report claims the launch date of iOS 15 to be of September 15th, 2021, which falls on the past timeline of new software launches by Apple.
