Beyerdynamic has recently introduced PHONUM, their Mobile Wireless Bluetooth speakerphone for meetings. It basically transforms any space into a conference room and easily connects with smart devices and laptops wirelessly for bidirectional speech transmission.
It features GECKO 360° technology which makes up of three components – FUNCTION, VOICE and SOUND. Along with its three modes – Fix, Follow and 360°, the microphone directivity can be adjusted to a point in one fixed direction, dynamically follow speaker or cover the whole room.
The GECKO 360° also takes care of playback due to its down firing loud speaker. The speaker itself is compact, easy to carry, easily connects with mobile devices and runs on a battery. It features a specially arranged 360° three high quality microphones which ensure clear transmission of words in perfect intelligibility. It also features the best-in-class echo cancellation.
The Beyerdynamic PHONUM gives a 360° output. At initial glancing, its down firing speakers seem to be overhead, the speaker is directed downward allowing sound to radiate 360° all over the room. The Bluetooth speaker is compatible with most video conference apps like Skype for Business, Google Hangouts, Webex Meetings, Webex Teams, and Zoom etc.
It features intuitive touch panel for quick starting meeting. A fully charged battery should give you about 12 hours of uninterrupted meetings. It features a quick-recharge option which typically charges in 3 hours using USB just in case if you run out of juice. Portable devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops are connected utilizing Bluetooth V4.2 or USB connection.
It features a maximum speaker output of 2.3Wrms, Sound pressure level of 75dB at 1m/1Wrms and Loudspeaker frequency response of 100Hz to 14kHz. The microphone frequency response ranges from 150Hz to 6.8kH. It has Echo cancellation (AEC) and Noise Cancelling (ANC) algorithms as well.
