Businesses on Twitter Can Now Display Location and Contact Info

Twitter Bans Live Location Sharing of Others

Twitter is expanding the Location Spotlight feature globally after testing it for a while in the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia until now.

With this, businesses – also known as professional accounts on Twitter, can add a location address, contact details, and working hours information to their profile, so viewers can reach them directly on the platform instead of finding them on other third-party sources.

Expanding Twitter Professionals

In order to qualify something as a Twitter Professional account, it either has to be a business or an individual creator with a significant presence. Also, Twitter stated that anyone using the platform for professional work is considered a Professionals, provided that they have no history of repeated violations.

These accounts are now getting a boost by the Location Spotlight feature where they display their outlet’s physical address on their profile. They should draw this information from Google Maps, so any user tapping on it will show the directions to the location.

Aside from this, they can also display the working hours and contact information – with buttons like phone, text, email, or DMs to reach quicker. All these features have been available in the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia for quite a time and now rolling out to Professional accounts around the world.

All of these allow users to check details about the business on Twitter itself, without the needing of visiting any third-party service. Aside from this, there’s a new section called “Professional Home,” – which is a resource hub for the professionals to track their performance, discover product offerings and drive performance.

Also, there’s a monthly live workshop series called “Taking Care of Business” – to help people get started on Twitter as professionals and have a better output drawn from it’s tools and information resources.
