At it’s Google I/O 2023, the search giant finally unveiled it’s budget-friendly Google Pixel 7a. The device has been in the leaks for quite some time and now we finally know about this device. The “a” series is always a trimmed-down version of Google’s number series and offers some decent specifications with great cameras. Check out the detailed specifications of the device below.

Google Pixel 7a Specifications:

The Pixel 7a follows the design language of last year’s Google Pixel 7 series and this is what we already expected from the device. There is a two-tone finish on the rear side and a stripe that houses the rear camera setup. The bezels on the front are symmetrical this time which makes the device looks better.

The Google Pixel 7a sports a 6.1-inch Full HD+ flat OLED display with a fast 90Hz refresh rate. This is for the first time Google has decided to go for a fast 90Hz refresh rate display panel for it’s “A” series device instead of a standard 60Hz which is an upgrade over it’s predecessor. There is a punch hole cutout at the top center of the display for the selfie camera. The display also supports HDR10+ and is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. There is an in-display fingerprint scanner on the device which is also the first time being used on the Google’s Pixel “A” series.

Under the hood is Google’s in-house Tensor G2 chipset which we already saw in last year’s Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The chipset is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 128GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, and Google’s own Titan M2 chipset for security.

The camera is the main highlighting feature of the Google Pixel devices and this time there is a dual rear camera system headlined by the 64MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor. There is a major upgrade in the camera department when compared with it’s predecessor. The camera system offers features such as long exposure mode and faster night sight. On the front is a 13MP selfie camera which is also an upgrade compared to the last generation.

It runs on Android 13 out of the box which is also expected from Google’s smartphones, that they come with the latest stable Android version. The device has a 4385 mAh battery with wireless charging support and there is no charger included in the box. This is also for the first time that Google brought Q1 wireless charging for it’s “A” series device. In terms of battery, there is a downgrade as this battery is less than last year’s device. The device is available for sale for $499 in a few select markets starting today.
