Google Play Games for Windows OS is Now Available in Some Regions

Google Play Games PC Beta app is Expanding to More Countries

Playing Android games on a Windows PC is still a dream for many. And Microsoft made it happen with the help of the Windows Subsystem for Linux last year.

But, they aren’t so good as we play on mobile. This led Google to step in with a dedicated Google Play Games app for Windows, which it said will be coming soon. And now, we see it rolling to Windows users in Hongkong, Taiwan, and South Korea. Soon, it may be available for other regions too.

Android Games on Windows

To date, the gaming community is divided into two strict platforms like PC and mobile. And either of them, at one point, wished to play on the other platform for a change. This led few people to try emulators, which offered a good playing experience to mobile players on PC.

But, a native solution is always missing. Since there’s a significant gap, Microsoft last year promised to bridge this by introducing Windows Subsystem for Android, which will let users run Android apps natively. Though it’s available now, we still have a lot of major apps unable to take advantage of the Windows and PC hardware.

While it’s still in development, Google made another big promise by letting Windows users play Android games by making a dedicated Google Play Games app for Windows soon. And we see that going live now, to users in Taiwan, Hongkong, and South Korea.

Calling it the first beta, Google induced games like Asphalt 9: Legends, Rise of Empires: Ice and Fire, Summoners War, Idle Heroes, and many others in this app, and could possibly curate the library according to regions. So we may see different games available when it’s brought to the US and other nations.

If you’re interested in trying this out, make sure your PC’s hardware is supported when Google brings this app for everyone. Microsoft earlier mentioned requirements like Windows 10 software, 8GB of RAM, an 8-core CPU, and 20GB of available space for playing Android games on Windows.
