Google finally rolled out January 2022 OTA update for its Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Additionally, the pixel maker also published the OTA files and system images for both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices.

This new update brings many improvements and bug fixes that were on the December update including some new improvements that are for this month.

If you already updated your device on December 2021 update then this update is 40 MB for you and if you are updating from November 2021 update then this update is 215 MB. The first bug that got fixed is the one that restricted users from making any emergency calls.

Google published the list of all the bugs that this update fixes on its developer support page. On its support page, Google states, “The software update for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will begin rolling out to devices on January 14. This update includes all the fixes indicated below as well as all fixes for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro in the December 2021 update post. The update will be available for all devices over the following week, but exact timing may vary depending on your carrier and country.”

Some users faced battery drain issues under specific conditions which are also fixed in this update. Moreover, the update also brings some UI improvements which make the whole user experience smoother, and now Wi-Fi is more stable than previous with the new update.

The past two months have not been good for the Google Pixel 6 series owners after the December 2021 update debacle. The December update was supposed to fix some bugs that users were facing but instead of fixing them, it brings many new bugs along with it. After the December update, many users start facing signal issues.

Google also disables some exclusive pixel features due to the bugs. Some users updated their devices to the December 2021 update, while many users prefer to stay at the November 2021 update until Google fixes all these bugs.
