Apps take space when they are installed on your phone. If you are not updating it (we generally don’t update apps that we aren’t using) and not using it, then it is just using up the space on your device. When apps are not updated, they cause security or performance issues. Therefore sieve your smartphone and look for apps that you haven’t been using for a long time or aren’t using at all. Uninstall them and free some space. The lesser the apps on your smartphone, the fewer background processes consume space, battery and CPU power. Not to mention, the performance improves drastically.

  1. Update Your Android

The latest Android version available currently is Android 10.0 (at the time this article was written. Updates come with important features, fixes and security patches that enhance the performance of your device. You must update your Android’s firmware to ensure that its speed and performance are maintained.

  1. Update All Existing Apps

All apps installed on your Android must be updated regularly. You must keep your notifications turned ON to ensure that you get a timely notification to update your apps. All updated apps run fast and perform better, ensuring that your phone doesn’t crash. So if you want to improve Android performance of your device, then keep your apps updated.

  1. Keep Widgets that are Necessary

Widgets are interactive components on your Home Screen, which allow you to perform actions on them such as calculator, weather, stock market, etc. Widgets are always active and like the other apps, they keep running in the background. They are useful, but they can hamper the performance of your phone. Use ones that are necessary and disable the others. All you need to do is tap and hold the widget that you wish to delete and drag it to the trash bin and release it.

  1. Live Wallpapers are Power Hungry

If you are using live wallpaper, then you must also know that frequent CPU cycles are required for it to run which causes the battery to drain. Each time you are using your phone for browsing, playing games or performing any other activity, then the live wallpaper is also activated and runs in the background. They look beautiful, but they can slow down the phone speed.

  1. Clear Cache of Your Device

Caches store data and serve you the saved data when you request for it in the future. However, when too much cache is accumulated, it makes your Android device sluggish. You should clear the cache at regular intervals to avoid any erratic behavior of your phone and to keep its performance boosted.
