How to Create Calendar Events on HomePod

Did you just buy a new smart speaker? Then you must be wondering how to do the basic tasks such as marking events on the calendar, creating reminders, or anything else. Today, almost every speaker is powered by voice assistants and Apple’s HomePod and HomePod Mini are not an exception because their smart voice assistants make their speakers truly smart.  Just like every other Apple device, HomePod and HomePod Mini use Siri as the built-in voice assistant to get tasks done.

Siri can understand some commands on Apple’s HomePod as well as HomePod Mini that make it easy to add and manage calendar events. These calendar events can be synced to any iOS device signed in with the same Apple ID as the HomePod or HomePod Mini.

As long as you enable Personal Request during Apple’s HomePod setup, Siri can access your calendar events, reminders, messages, and many more when your iOS device is on the same Wi-Fi network.

So, if you are a new user of HomePod, this article is for you. Here, we have covered how to create calendar events on HomePod and sync over to all of your other iCloud-equipped iOS devices, including the Mac, iPhone, and iPad.

How to Create Calendar Events on HomePod?

No matter what is your HomePod model and what firmware it is currently running, follow these steps to add calendar events:

To add a new event to your calendar, use the voice command and ask “Hey Siri, create a new calendar event.”

Siri will ask for the date as well as the time of your appointment. You will have to enter the details in your next response. You can avoid these questions by saying, “Hey Siri, add an event to my calendar on Tuesday at 9 PM.”

You can give a name to your event by including a voice command saying, “Hey Siri, create a new calendar event named Anniversary.”

There you go. You have successfully created an event in your calendar with your Apple’s HomePod.

How to Check the Calendar Events Through HomePod?

To check what’s on your calendar events, just use your voice command feature and just ask, “Hey Siri, what’s on my calendar event?

You can be more specific about a particular day by asking, “Hey Siri, what’s on my calendar for 11th June?

How to Delete Events on Your Calendar With Apple’s HomePod?

Now that you have created new events on your calendar, you may also want to learn how to cancel or remove those events that you have created accidentally. Follow these simple steps to delete your calendar events:

To delete your unwanted events, you can simply say, “Hey Siri, Remove a calendar event.”

Siri will list out all your upcoming events so that you can choose which event you want to delete.

To remove a specific calendar event, use the name of the event in your voice command. For example, you can say, “Hey Siri, remove the calendar event named Anniversary.”

After that, Siri will ask for your confirmation where you have to reply “Yes,” and you are done.

It’s pretty much easy to create and delete calendar events with Siri on your HomePod. However, as far as removing a calendar event is concerned, it is important to note that Siri can only delete one event at a time. In short, you need to be patient because it will take a while to delete all your unwanted events.

The calendar events you create using the voice command on the HomePod will show up in your calendar app installed on your iOS device.

Hope this information will help you to schedule your events with your HomePod. If you still face any issues, you may contact Apple Customer Care for more information.
