Got a new connection from DITO? Then you need to read this to get started. Your DITO sim is a gateway to a host of features that you might be eager to explore. To explore your DITO connection, you need the DITO app. The good thing is, this app is available on both the platforms iOS and Android. How to download DITO app?
As a first step, go to the appropriate app repository based on your platform. For example, if you have an Android phone, then go to the play store. If you have an iPhone then go to the App store. Even though the app repositories are different based on the platforms, the app interface is almost identical. As a pre-requisite, we need to check if your handset is compatible with the DITO app. If you have a new handset, then rest assured it will work. But if it is a pretty old one, say around 3-4 years old, without any updates, then it might not work. For downloading the DITO app, you don’t need a working DITO SIM. As a fact, you can buy a DITO SIM, and activate it through your DITO app. In this case, you can use a WiFI connection to download the app. In case you are not sure your phone is compatible or not, visit the link given below. If you have checked the handset compatibility, and it is compatible, then let’s go to the next step:
Go to Play Store or App Store.
Search for DITO, in the search box. Playstore will list it out as DITO, while App store will list out as DITO PH.
Before you click on download, ensure that your device has the required space. DITO app takes around 30 MB of space. If there is less space, the download will be blocked automatically, and it will prompt to clean up the space.
Before you proceed, make sure that you have the required OS version. In the case of Android, the minimum requirement is 5.0, while for iOS, it is 11.
If you have made it this far, it is time to click on download.
As soon as the download happens, it will proceed with the installation. Post that, the DITO app should be visible on your home screen or in your app library. If you don’t find your app listed anywhere, check in the app repository whether it was installed or not. The latest version of DITO for both the platform is 1.3.2.
Once your app is installed, try launching it. The DITO app should launch successfully. If the app crashes, ensure the crash summary report is collected and shared with the platform vendor. If the app freezes on the home screen, then relaunch the app by freeing the internal memory. This could be done by closing down some resource-hungry apps such as YouTube, Facebook, or WhatsApp, which keeps on running in the background.
How to log in to the DITO app?
There could be two scenarios. First, it’s a new sim that is not activated. Second, your sim is activated.
If your SIM is not activated:
- Ensure the SIM is inserted into slot 1.
- Turn on the “Volte Calls” option, from Settings. This will show the VOLTE bar.
- Now change the APN settings as shared by DITO.
As soon as this is done, a welcome message with the initial password will be sent. Now, click on the option “Sign in with your DITO number”. Use your number along with the initial password to sign in.
If your SIM is already activated, then click on forgot password. Enter your number, and generate the OTP. Then set the password. Now, log in with your number as username and your new password.
How to update DITO app?
Whenever a new version is available, there will be a notification as soon as the app is launched. It will say “New App version available”. Once you tap on “Update Now”, the update will get downloaded. Once you hit install, the update will be installed. As soon as the updated app is launched, a screen will pop up to show what is new in this updated version.
