Huawei P20 Lite Bluetooth Issues

Bluetooth connectivity problems can be frustrating, especially when you’re trying to connect your Huawei P20 Lite to other devices. Fortunately, most Bluetooth issues can be resolved with a few simple troubleshooting steps. In this guide, we’ll walk you through various solutions to fix Bluetooth problems on your Huawei P20 Lite. Whether you’re experiencing connection drops, pairing failures, or other Bluetooth-related issues, we’ve got you covered.

Let’s dive into each solution in detail.

1. Reboot Your Device

One of the simplest and most effective ways to fix Bluetooth issues on your Huawei P20 Lite is to reboot your device. Rebooting can help resolve any software glitches or conflicts that may be causing the problem. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Press and hold the power key on your Huawei P20 Lite for about 3 seconds.
  2. A menu will appear on the screen. Tap on the “Restart” option.
  3. Wait for your phone to restart and then check if the Bluetooth problem persists.

2. Turn Off Bluetooth and Turn It Back On

If rebooting your device didn’t solve the Bluetooth problem, the next step is to turn off Bluetooth and then turn it back on. This can refresh the Bluetooth connection and resolve any temporary issues. Follow these steps to do it:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Huawei P20 Lite.
  2. Tap on “Device Connection”.
  3. Locate the Bluetooth option and toggle the switch next to it to turn it off.
  4. Wait for a few seconds and then toggle the switch back on to turn Bluetooth back on.

3. Re-Add the Devices

If you’re still experiencing Bluetooth connection issues, re-adding the devices you’re trying to connect can help. This process essentially resets the Bluetooth connection between your Huawei P20 Lite and the other device. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Huawei P20 Lite.
  2. Tap on “Device Connection”.
  3. Select “Bluetooth” from the menu.
  4. You’ll see a list of all the paired devices. Find the device that is giving you trouble and tap on it.
  5. Tap on the option to unpair or forget the device.
  6. Once the device is unpaired, go back to the Bluetooth menu and tap on “Scan” or “Pair New Device”.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair the device again and check if the Bluetooth problem is resolved.

4. Ensure Your Device is Discoverable

Sometimes, the Bluetooth issue may arise if your Huawei P20 Lite is not set to discoverable mode. When your device is discoverable, other devices can find and connect to it. Here’s how you can set your device to discoverable mode:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Huawei P20 Lite.
  2. Tap on “Device Connection”.
  3. Select “Bluetooth” from the menu.
  4. Look for an option that says “Discoverable” or “Visibility” and toggle the switch to enable it.
  5. Now, try connecting your Huawei P20 Lite to the desired device and see if the Bluetooth problem is resolved.

5. Check for Software Updates

Software updates often include bug fixes and improvements, which can help resolve Bluetooth issues. Make sure your Huawei P20 Lite is running the latest software version. Here’s how you can check for software updates:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Huawei P20 Lite.
  2. Scroll down and tap on the “Software Update” option.
  3. Your phone will now search for any available software updates.
  4. If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it.
  5. After the update is complete, check if the Bluetooth problem is resolved.

6. Perform a Factory Reset

If none of the previous methods work, you can try performing a factory reset on your Huawei P20 Lite. A factory reset will erase all data and settings on your device, so make sure to back up your important files before proceeding. Here’s how you can perform a factory reset:

  1. Go to the home screen of your Huawei P20 Lite and choose “Settings”.
  2. Scroll down and tap on “System”.
  3. Select “Reset” and then choose “Factory Data Reset”.
  4. Confirm your decision and wait for the reset process to complete.
  5. Once the device restarts, set it up again and check if the Bluetooth problem is resolved.

  1. I wouldn’t really call it a “fix” to reboot/re-pair etc… its more a workaround…

  2. Hi I’m looking for some help on how to solve my problem my WiFi or Bluetooth won’t switch on when I touch the icons the just go dim and stay that way I have done factory reset but no joy would appreciate if you could help me

  3. Next time you call it a fix, try adding some tips that aren’t completely obvious. The P20 commercial in the beginning shows you’re a big fat sell out instead of providing anything useful so good job.
