Microsoft released the Windows 11 Preview Build 22000.51 after announcing the new operating system last week. The preview build here is for the users of Microsoft Dev Channel.

Windows 11 is the next generation of Microsoft OS succeeding the most popular Windows 10 OS which was released in 2015.

In this article, we are giving a complete guide on how to install Windows 11 Preview build on your PC. This guide also gives details about how you can upgrade your Windows 10 to the preview build of the new OS without losing any data.

Upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11:

If you are using Windows 10 on your computer then this is a step-by-step guide for you. This method is simple and without any inconvenience of losing data.

This method is for those users who are using Windows 10 and want to upgrade to the newly announce OS. Users won’t lose any data, settings, apps and their windows license also remains valid. Moreover, if at any time you want to downgrade to the previous update you can also do that at any point.

The first step for users is to join the Windows Insider Program.

You can click on the link to join the Insider Program. If you haven’t joined it previously then you have to register yourself using the same link with the Microsoft account.

Once you create a Microsoft account, then link your computer with that Microsoft account. It means f you are login into your computer with the local account then switch it to Microsoft account.

To link your computer with a Microsoft account, open Settings and then click on accounts.

Now click on the “Sign in with Microsoft account instead”.

Enter your Microsoft account detail, it is the same account details you just used to registered to Insider Program.

When you enter your account details and switch to the online account from the local account. Then head to the update and security section in the settings app.

Click on “Windows Insider Program” and click on “Get Started”.

Select your Microsoft account and then click on “Dev Channel”. This is because Windows 11 preview build is only available on the Dev Channel.

Click on confirm to continue. One thing to remember that this is the Preview build and not the official build. It is rolled out for beta testers and developers so it might contain few bugs.

Then go back to Windows update and security and check for updates.

The process will start and it takes few minutes so be patient and wait for the process to complete.

Once it will check the Windows update, it will start the download process of the Windows 11 Preview build.

Windows will require 1 to 2 hours to get the download so wait for the download to complete. Your computer will restart several times in between so don’t worry.

Once the process will complete, you will get the Windows 11 Preview to build.
