How To Make A Secret Door

Using secret doors is the most efficient way to keep your stuff concealed from other Minecraft players. We’re not talking about rebuilding a damaged mud door whenever you want to enter your concealed location. Others have devised numerous more complex strategies for establishing secret entrances in Minecraft throughout the years.

This article will demonstrate how to make a secret door in Minecraft using Pressure Plates, Sticky Pistons, Item Frames and Buttons. We will also demonstrate some simpler alternatives that do not use Redstone or Sticky Pistons. A few prerequisites must be met before the secret concealed door may be made. To be specific, Minecraft players must be in the Overworld to finish this design, as it cannot exist in the Nether. Also, players should do it as soon as possible if the most recent version of Minecraft is not installed. For the uninitiated, updates are done automatically on consoles, while the option is available under “downloads and updates” on the PC Minecraft launcher. That being said, any version higher than 1.16 of Minecraft will have the feature of building the secret doors.

What Materials Are Needed to Create a Minecraft Hidden Door?

Building Redstone doors in Minecraft is a little more difficult than most of the game’s other chores since Redstone dust is a material that can transmit electricity when used as a block. Fortunately, creating a secret entrance is rather straightforward, requiring only seven types of materials and 19 pieces of Redstone dust. The following are the materials required:-

  • Eight Sticky Pistons (8)
  • One button (1)
  • One Repeater (1)
  • One observer (1)
  • Nineteen Redstone Dust (19)
  • One Redstone Block (1)
  • One Redstone Torch (1)

The concept is primarily handled by the usage of an Observer; however, the disadvantage of this block is that it relies on players having a lot of bonemeal on hand. If this becomes an issue in survival mode, Soul Sand valley in Minecraft’s Netherworld will supply an abundance of bone blocks, which may be collected.

How to make a secret door in Minecraft:

Step 1: Install Pistons

  • Build a sticky piston 2*2 square. Otherwise, the door will only open once and never close
  • Next, to the 2*2 square of pistons, add 12 columns of sticky pistons at a 90-degree angle
  • The doors will open/close in the direction these pistons face

Step 2: Insert your door blocks

Put the material that will become your door in the gap between both pairs of sticky pistons.

This may be any slidable block (not obsidian or bedrock) that does not stick (so no slime blocks). I recommend choosing blocks that mix with your backdrop; We are using a separate colour to show where the door is(But a rainbow is a fantastic alternative for a door that needs to be seen). Sand or gravel are also poor choices since they will not blend in with your surroundings.

Step 3: To wash. Rinse. Repeat

Steps 1 and 2 should be repeated but mirrored and 2 blocks apart. Don’t create anything in the two empty space blocks where the pistons will expand.

Step 4: Construct a Wall

Construct a wall to conceal the pistons. It should be at least 6 blocks long and 4 blocks high. Make a 2*2 square in the center of your door.

Step 5: Connect It

  • Then, add two repeaters pointing outwards. This must be set to the second delay level (one click) for the door to operate correctly.
  • Following that, sprinkle Redstone dust on the rest of the loop to link the repeaters. Check that all your connections are complete and that your repeaters point in the appropriate directions.
  • Once the wiring is complete, place a Redstone torch on one of the two blocks above the entrance. Check that the Redstone is connected to the torch and that the doors are activated.
  • Once it is completed, proceed to the front of the wall and place a lever on the same bricks as your Redstone torch. Pulling the lever on the correct block will open the door. (A second time pushing the lever will close it).

Step 6: Choose a Place for Your Hidden Hideaway

Navigate your Minecraft world until you locate a location that meets your requirements. Almost any location will do as long as it is not constructed of sand or gravel and has easy access.

We chose a location high up on a little hill with a cave there. The cave is too conspicuous since many people would choose it. Because your Hideout is higher up on the hill, it is considerably more hidden.

Step 7: Extract It

When you’ve decided on a place, you’ll need to make room for your door.

  • Begin by excavating a 2*2 hole 3 blocks into the mountain. You could go further, but this is the simplest option(and minimum).

  • Following that, you must excavate two 2*2*2 recesses in the cave’s sidewalls. Here is where your sticky pistons will go, so don’t scrimp here.

Secret door 2

  • After finishing those two holes, dig up two blocks in a four-block channel. As illustrated in picture below, the dug-out space should be one away from the door. This is the beginning of our Redstone area.

Secret door 3

  • When you’ve finished the first channel, hollow out a 2*6 area in the cave’s roof. After all of your digging, you should have a cave that extends 3 blocks into the mountain, with 2*2*2 spaces on each side, a 2-block channel in the roof, and a 2*6 section hollowed out for Redstone.

Step 8: Insert the Redstone

Next, place two repeaters in the places (on the previous step’s hollowed-out area for Redstone). If they are not set to delay level 2 (one click), the door will not open.

Then, fill the rest of the hollow with Redstone dust, connecting all the components.

Step 9: Install the Pistons

Begin by constructing 2*2 sticky piston squares on either side of your cave, followed by 1*12 sticky piston columns linked to the previously constructed ones.

Step 10: Add a Redstone Torch

Place a Redstone torch on one of the two blocks that are not above the pistons. As long as you know which one it is, it makes no difference.

Step 11: Install the Door and Fill the Holes

If you put down the torch, the pistons should have pushed you outside; if not, dig your way out and fill in the hole you left.

Once outside, place your preferred door material on the pistons and search for breaches inside your cave. If you locate any, fill them in with a substance that matches.

Step 12: Finishing Touches

Put a lever on the block where you placed the Redstone torch. When you pull the lever, the door should open. If the door does not open, try again with various blocks until it does.

Following that, you’ll need to find a place to reside.

You don’t have to live in a dark hole just because you live on a mountain. Just open your door and dig out the required amount of space before adding items.

When you’re finished creating your house, go outside and demolish the lever. This will close the door and make it appear as if it isn’t even there. After that, you can depart without fear of someone discovering your secret refuge.

Conclusion

You should now have a nice entrance to your super-secret hideout if you followed all the procedures correctly. These doors are a unique approach to entering your home that will certainly wow guests.

A few hints: It’s nice to use this behind waterfalls, but you’ll need to add a block above the one where your lever goes.

You may construct it anywhere you like, but avoiding gravel and sand will simplify your job because this door will cause gravel and sand to fall when it’s open.

Even though this door is hidden, it can readily be broken into by other players. Therefore selecting a hidden place is critical.

This door is fantastic for entering in, but you can’t close it once inside unless you connect a lever to one of the Redstone dust-covered bricks. Then just pull the lever to close the door. This is how to make a secret door in Minecraft perfectly.
