Instagram permits a user to have five accounts that they can toggle to use without logging out every time. However, if you want to remove one of the accounts from Instagram, it can be easily done. Remember, removing an Instagram account is different from deleting an Instagram account. It is just that the account will stop showing up on your phone when you are toggling to switch accounts, but the account will always be active and visible to others. However, if you wish to remove Instagram account on your iPhone or Android phone, keep reading.
How to remove Instagram account on your iPhone or Android phone:
For Android phone:
On your Android phone, open the Instagram app
Check and confirm that you are on the account that you require to log out from Instagram – else toggle to go to the account by tapping on the small arrow on the top corner of your screen where your profile name is visible
Next, tap on your Profile icon located at the bottom right corner of your screen
Now tap on the Hamburger Button or the three vertical lines on the top right corner of your screen
In the list of options provided, tap on Settings
Scroll down and tap on Log Out
Confirm your action by tapping on Log Out on the pop-up
Logging out from the account still makes the account visible as you open the account because login information is enabled for Instagram users. To remove the account from your Instagram app, follow the steps below:
Open the Instagram app
Check if you are on the account you wish to remove
Tap on the Profile icon at the bottom-right corner of the screen and not the profile icon located on the top
Tap the Hamburger Button or the three vertical lines on the top right corner of your screen
Tap on Settings
Tap on Security
Tap on Login Info, and for the Saved Login Info option, toggle the button OFF
Confirm your action to remove the Instagram account by selecting the Remove option
This will remove the Instagram account from your Android phone.
For an iPhone:
On your iPhone, open the Instagram app
Check to see if you are on the account that you wish to log out from Instagram – else, toggle to go to the account by tapping on the small arrow on the top corner of your screen where your profile name is visible
You must now tap on your Profile Icon, which is at the bottom right corner of your screen
Next, tap on the Hamburger Button or the three vertical lines that are on the top right corner
Next, tap on Settings
Now tap on Log Out
Confirm your action by tapping on Log Out
The saved login information enabled by Instagram ensures that your Instagram account opens as soon as you open the app next time. To remove the Instagram account from your iOS phone, here is what you must do:
Open the Instagram app
Check if you are on the account that you want to remove
Tap on the profile icon located at the bottom-right corner of your phone screen – don’t tap on the profile icon on the top
Tap on the three vertical lines on the top right corner of your screen known as Hamburger icon
Tap on Settings
Tap on Security
Tap on Login Info, and for the Saved Login Info option, toggle the button OFF
Confirm your action to remove the Instagram account by selecting the Remove option
