The LG G8 ThinQ smartphone is an Android smartphone developed by LG Electronics as part of the LG G series. It was officially announced on February 24, 2019. The device serves as the successor to the 2018 LG G7 ThinQ smartphone.

The LG G8 ThinQ comes in a metal chassis with a glass backing, and is IP68-rated for water and dust-resistance. It is available in gray, black and red color finishes. The LG G8 ThinQ smartphone features a 1440p FullVision AMOLED display, with a diagonal size of 6.1 inches and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The LG G8 ThinQ smartphone is the first LG G series smartphone to have an Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display, as this had previously been reserved for LG V series set of smartphones starting with the LG V30 smartphone.

The LG G8 smartphone comes packed with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 system-on-chip with 6 GB of RAM. It is offered with 128 GB of internal storage which can be expanded with the use of a SD card. How To Set Up and Use Air Motion LG G8 ThinQ:

When turned on, Air Motion allows you to control your device without touching it via motions and gestures.

Please be aware that only the following multimedia apps work with Air Motion (supported apps subject to change): Netflix, YouTube, Naver TV, MX Player, Amazon Prime Video, M-Net, YouTube music, Melon, Bugs, SoundCloud, Pandora Radio, iHeartRadio, Spotify and Amazon Prime Music.

From a Home screen, navigate: Settings Settings icon > Extensions > Air Motion.

From the ADVANCED section tap the Show hand guide switch to turn on.

When turned on, a hand guide helps you with setting up gestures.

From the GENERAL section, tap any of the following:

Shortcut and capture
Control music and videos
Control calls and alarms

 

Shortcut and capture:

When you’re on the Home screen or in an app, you can swipe in the air to open and app or pinch with all fingers to take a screenshot (unavailable when using the camera.)

Tap the Shortcut and capture switch to turn on or off.

When turned on, tap any of the following to configure then select an app to use:
Selected when teal dot is present.

Tap the Back arrow icon Back arrow icon (lower-left) to return to the Air Motion screen.

From a Home screen, place your hand approximately 3-5 inches away from the front camera to turn on.

Bend your fingers into a claw then slowly move your hand approximately 6-8 inches away from the camera.

Wait for the ‘hand guide’ overlay to appear.

Swipe left or right.

To take a screenshot, pinch all fingers together.

 

Control music and videos:

Use your hand to control when playing music and videos.

Tap the Control music and videos switch to turn on or off.

When turned on, tap the applicable switch(es) (e.g. Music, Netflix, etc.) to turn on or off.

Tap the Back arrow icon Back arrow icon (lower-left) to return to the Air Motion screen.

To use ‘Control music and videos’:

From a Home screen, place your hand approximately 3-5 inches away from the front camera to turn it on.

Bend your fingers into a claw and place hand approximately 6-8 inches away from the front camera.

Wait for the ‘hand guide’ overlay to appear.

To pause or play music, swipe left or right.

Bend your fingers into a claw for volume controls.Adjust music volume by making claw
Turn your wrist as if you’re turning a volume knob to adjust volume levels.

 

Control calls and alarms:

Swipe left or right to answer and end calls and stop alarms and timers.

Tap any of the following switches to turn on or off:
Call
Alarm
Timer

Tap the Back arrow icon Back arrow icon (lower-left) to return to the Air Motion screen.

To use ‘Control calls and alarms’:

From a Home screen, bend your fingers into a claw then place your hand approximately 6-8 inches from the front camera.

Wait for the ‘hand guide’ overlay to appear.

Swipe left or right.

To end a call, place your hand 3-5 inches away from the front camera to turn Air Motion on.

Wait for the ‘hand guide’ overlay to appear.

Place fingers approximately 6-8 inches away from the camera and swipe left or right to end a call.
