When the question of the security of mobile phones arises, we all rely on passwords to protect our valuable information and ensure privacy. We all use either a PIN, password, pattern, or fingerprints on our mobile devices to make sure no one else gains access to our phone, and we frequently change the passcodes in order to maintain high security. At times, we humans forget passwords, and our devices get locked. Through this article, I will tell you how to bypass the lock screen and how to unlock your LG phone.
Ways To Unlock Your LG Phone:
Unlocking LG Phone Using Google Login
One of the most simple ways to unlock the LG phone is by using your Google account credentials. All Android devices are connected to Google account. Therefore, it is easy to bypass the lock screen and unlock the phone using the linked Google account.
Following are the steps to unlock the LG phone using Google Account.
Enter the wrong PIN at least five times. By doing so, you will get the forgot PIN/Pattern option. Tap on Forgot PIN option.
The device will show different ways to unlock your phone. Amongst the options, choose to unlock the phone with your Google account.
In the next step, it will ask you to enter your email id and passcode. You must sign in with the linked Google account to enter its security settings. Enter the details and click on sign-in.
Once you log into your Gmail account, you will be able to bypass the phone’s lock screen password automatically.
Note: The method will work only if you have a linked Google account. Moreover, the method will only work if your phone is connected to the internet through mobile data or WIFI. This method of unlocking the phone is not provided on all Android models.
Unlocking LG Phone Using Android Device Manager
Users can also use Android Device Manager to unlock their LG phone remotely. It is one of the perfect ways to gain access to your device, but your LG phone must be linked with a Google account for this solution to work.
The steps to unlock are as follows:
Access the Android Device Manager website from another phone or computer.
Sign in to your Google account that is linked with your LG phone.
Select the model of your LG phone.
It will give you three options: Ring, Lock, and Erase.
Choose the Lock option.
A pop-up window will open that will ask you to enter a new password. After entering a new password, click on “Lock” to proceed. The password you will create would be temporary.
Unlock your LG phone using this temporary password. Once you unlock your phone, you can change the temporary password by going to the “security” option in the “settings” menu on your LG device. You may continue using this temporary password in case you wish to.
Unlocking LG Phone By Factory Reset
You can also unlock the LG phone using the Factory Reset option, though it is not advisable as it will wipe all the data on your phone. This method should be used as a last resort, especially when you do not have a backup of your data, as this method will restore your phone to a factory state.
Following are the steps to unlock the LG phone using the Factory Reset Option:
- Switch off your LG phone.
- Press the “power button” key and “volume down button” key simultaneously.
- Hold the keys until the “LG” logo appears on the screen.
- Now use the “volume key” to scroll to the “Wipe Data/Factory Reset” option and click on it.
- A pop-up window will appear and notify you that all the data would be erased; as you will confirm, it will begin the factory reset process.
- When the factory reset process is complete, click on the “reboot system now” option shown on the Recovery Mode menu.
After completing the start-up process, the lock screen is removed, and you regain access to your LG phone.
