How to Use Android Phone as Speaker for PC

If there has been a situation when your speakers aren’t along with your PC then you can always use your Android phone in place of the speakers for a louder sound.

There are two ways in which an Android phone can be used as a speaker for PC. In both the methods you need to download software SoundWire Server on your computer and the app version on your Android phone.

Method 1: How to use phone as speaker for PC via USB without internet

In the first method, you can use your Android phone as a speaker when you do not have a WiFi connection. Connect your Android phone’s internet to your PC using USB tethering

This will put your Android phone and the PC over the same network through the USB

Run ‘Soundwire’ application on your PC System and along with this open the Soundwire App on your Android Phone too

Enter the address of the server to the Android App and then click on ‘Soundwire’ icon. Once the connection is made, you will be able to listen to the music playing on your computer through the speakers of your Android phone.

The audio that is being played can also be recorded. The file is saved in Mp3 format in your phone.

Method 2: How to Use Phone as Speaker for PC via WiFi

Download the SoundWire App and software on your Android phone and computer as mentioned above and then proceed with the steps.

Connect your WiFi to your computer and your Android phone. You should use the same WiFi connection and stay connected to the respective devices.

Open the SoundWire application on computer and its app version on the Android phone.

Enter the address of the server to the Android App and then click on ‘Soundwire’ icon. Once the connection is made you will be able to listen to the music playing on your computer through the speakers of your Android phone.

When the connection is established, check, the Android App and the color of the ring would have changed to golden and on PC the status of connection will have changed to “Connected”.

The two methods are similar and you can use wither one of them to use your Android phone as a speaker.
