Use secret codes on iPhone

Do you know your iPhone has some cool secret codes that you can use to do many things? Many of you don’t even know what these secret codes are and what they can do. These secret codes, also known as Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), are simple numbers and symbols you can dial from your iPhone. This article will show some of these secret codes and how to use secret codes on iPhone.

6 ways you to use secret codes on your iPhone:

1) Find IMEI on iPhone:

IMEI number or International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number is a unique set of numbers different for every device. It is written on your iPhone case package. You can also find your iPhone’s IMEI number using secret codes. To find your iPhone IMEI number, dial *#06# from your iPhone. The number will be automatically shown on your screen.

2) Hide your Caller ID on iPhone:

when you call someone, your Caller ID displays on other people’s phones. They can easily recognize your Caller ID. However, you can hide it using a USSD code. To do that, dial *67 (inside US) or #31# depending on where you are. Then dial the person’s number and area code, whom you don’t want to show your Caller ID. Then go ahead and call them. They can’t see your Caller ID.

3) Launching Field Test mode on iPhone:

There is a hidden field test mode in your iPhone that can enable you to access technical information about your iPhone’s cellular signal and connection. Usually, this feature is for technicians and engineers. But we will let you in on the secret so that you can check your iPhone’s network. However, you cannot check the strength of your signal as a numerical value. That feature is only available on iOS 15. But it is still worth trying out this secret code.

To check out your iPhone’s network, go to your settings menu and then go to Wi-Fi. Turn off your Wi-Fi. After that, go to the phone app and dial 3001#12345#. You will see a field test on your screen split into two tabs, Dashboard, and All Metrics. If you are using iOS 13 or iOS 14, go to all metrics and scroll down to Serving Cell Meas. Find rsrp0 and rspr1 from there. There you can see cellular signal strength in decibel-mill watts. If the number is around -40 mark, then you are at a good network place.

4) Divert incoming calls on iPhone:

Sometimes when you are busy on a call and you’re getting another incoming call, you can not take that call. However, what you can do is divert that call to another number. You can enable this feature from your call settings. But you can also do it using secret code. Go to the phone app and dial the number accordingly. If you want to forward your calls when you don’t answer, then you have to dial *61*. If your phone is unreachable, then dial *62*. If you are on another call, then dial *67*. After that, dial the number you want to divert to and then enter #. Hit the dial button, and you will get a confirmation.

5) Enable call waiting on iPhone:

When you are talking to a person over the phone, and some other person is calling you, they can be put on hold. You can enable call waiting using the code. To do that, simply enter *43# and the dial button. You will get confirmation. And if you want to disable this feature, then you need to dial #43#.

6) Preventing outgoing calls on iPhone:

If you are not around your phone and someone is handling your phone, they can make a call. However, you can prevent them from doing that by using USSD codes. Just enter *33* and then enter your secret PIN followed by #. Hit the dial and close the confirmation tab. You can also disable it by dialing #33* and your pin then #.

Secret codes are really convenient if you know how to use them properly. These codes directly connect your service provider’s computers, and then you get access to hidden features. You can easily use these codes on your iPhone 13 and 13 pro and on your iPhone SE. There are other codes that you can use, but we will talk about them some other time. Have fun using these secret codes on your iPhone.
