Huawei P20 / P20 Pro Automatically Power Off In A Cold Environment.

Issue:

The phone automatically powers off when the user uses it in a cold environment (outdoor in winter).

Reason:

Phones with a lithium-ion battery automatically power off in a low-temperature environment to protect the battery and prolong its service life. If the temperature is low, the battery performance will deteriorate. On the one hand, the phone software automatically monitors the battery temperature, will stop the battery’s electric discharge if the battery temperature is too low. On the other hand, the battery activity will be reduced. Therefore, power-intensive apps (such as Camera) cannot be supported. As a result, the phone automatically powers off.

Solution/Fix:

It is recommended that you avoid using power-intensive apps (such as Camera) at low temperatures to prolong the service life of the battery.
