Months after testing, Instagram is officially expanding the NFTs on it’s platform to over 100 countries across the Asia Pacific, the Americas, and the Middle East.
Users will soon be able to send NFTs as messages and upload them to their feeds – with the attribution of concerned creators or collectors. Also, the AR stickers are coming on Instagram which can be uploaded to statuses.
NFTs and AR Stickers on Instagram
In May this year, Instagram started testing NFTs with a handful of creators on it’s platform. May this have been deemed okay, as the platform is now expanding to more countries.
As announced by Mark Zuckerberg on his Instagram handle, NFTs and AR Stickers on Instagram are coming to more than 100 countries in the Middle East, the Asia Pacific, and the Americas. Thus, Instagram users in these areas will be able to send NFTs as messages and upload them to their feed too.
Although, all such sharing will have an automatic attribution to the concerned collector or creators to credit his work. Aside from this, Instagram is also bringing the AR stickers to support being uploaded by users in their status.
The platform is also adding Coinbase and Dapper wallets – through which users can import their NFTs collection to be shared. These aside from Rainbow, MetaMask, and Trust Wallet support we already have in testing. Instagram supports Ethereum and Polygon, Flow blockchain-based NFTs.
Sharing this news, Mark Zuckerberg uploaded a Little League baseball card featuring him in his young years, which will soon be turning into an NFT. He gifted this card to his favorite camp counselor, Allie Tarantino, who is now planning to sell both the signed card and the associated NFT later.
