MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core SoC announced, sports HyperEngine Game Technology

MediaTek has recently introduced its new octa-core SoC called the MediaTek Helio G80. It was built for budget and mid-range smartphones and comes packed with MediaTek’s HyperEngine Game technology that allows for optimum gaming performance.

The HyperEngine gaming technology comes with an Intelligent Speed Uplift for Rapid game play and optimum Resource Management Engine which allows for Better and longer gameplay.

The MediaTek Helio G80 is based on TSMC 12 nm process. It features an Octa-Cores consisting of 2GHz Cortex-A75 x 2 + 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 x 6 cores. It also supports LPDDR3 (933MHz) up to 4GB and LPDDR4X RAM (1800MHz) up to 8GB coupled with eMMC 5.1 storage space.

It comes with an integrated modem that offers Cat.7 DL and Cat.13 UL speeds and 4G Carrier Aggregation. It also supports CDMA2000 1x/EVDO Rev. A (SRLTE), 4G FDD / TDD, Dual 4G VoLTE (DSDS), HSPA +, DL/UL CA, TAS 2.0, HPUE, IMS (VoLTE\ViLTE\WoWi-Fi), eMBMS and Band 71.

The MediaTek Helio G80 supports displays with up to 2520 x 1080 pixels Full HD+ resolution along with 60 Hz refresh rate as well as an aspect ratio of 21:9. There is also an ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU that is clocked at 950 MHz. It comes with an Intelligent Voice on Wakeup (VoW) feature as well.

The SoC can manage 48MP single or 16MP + 16MP dual shooters. It featyres a 2X ISP with Rolling Shutter Compensation (RSC) engine, Hardware Warping Engine (EIS), MEMA 3DNR, Multi-Frame noise reduction and also the Face Unlock feature.

Connectivity specifications features an Integrated Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.0, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo and FM Radio.

Smartphones that will be powered by MediaTek Helio G80 SoC will be released later down in 2020.
