Meta is Venturing into Generative AI Space with New ‘AI Personas’

Meta Announced a Paid Verification Program Across its Products

Following the lead of Microsoft and Google, Meta is now venturing into the Generative AI space with it’s own plans, as announced by Mark Zuckerberg.

He noted the coming of creative and expressive tools soon and AI Personas later at some time. While more details of these are yet to be known, he said to offer new experiences with text on WhatsApp and Messenger, creative filters in Instagram, and new video formats and ads on Facebook.

Meta’s New AI Plans

After Microsoft and Google, Meta is now venturing into the Generative AI space with new plans, as announced by the company’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. This comes after the massive success of ChatGPT – an AI chatbot from OpenAI that amassed over 100 million users in just two months.

This triggered the tech giants, which started shifting their resources and time to make their own similar tools. Well, Meta is now entering this game, too – by building creative and expressive tools in near future. And in the long term, the company is planning to develop “AI Personas” – a concept where the company collects millions of data points of a user powered by AI – and define his digital profile.

This can be used for making your unique avatar and for targeted advertising. Well, we’re waiting to see how Meta tunes this in the future. Until then, Zuckerberg said users could expect new experiences with text (like chat in WhatsApp and Messenger), with images (like creative Instagram filters and ad formats) and with video and multi-modal experiences.

Cautioning that there’s a lot of foundational work to do for bringing these advanced projects to life, Zuckerberg is aiming for his company to become a leader in this Generative AI space.
