If the rumors are true, then Xiaomi will be launching its next flagship which is dubbed Xiaomi 12 on December 12 after the Qualcomm Snapdragon summit. This Xiaomi 12 also might be the first device to launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 1 chipset.
Along with the Xiaomi 12, the company will launch Xiaomi 12X with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset and MIUI 13.
Xiaomi 12 will likely release with the MIUI 12.5 custom skin on top of Android 11 and will later be updated to MIUI 12 on top of Android 12. But there are also some rumors that Xiaomi 12 will get the MIUI version 13 update later but that is also based on Android 11.
Also, there are news that Xiaomi 12X will launch with the MIUI 13 out of the box as the company is currently internally testing the latest version of its custom skin based on Android on the device.
This leak comes from XiaomiUI which claims that the company has started testing MIUI 13 on Xiaomi 12X. The blog found the beta build of MIUI 13 with a build number 13.0.0.46.RLDMIXM and V13.0.0.56.RLDCNXM. They also found out that these beta software builds are based on Android 11 and not on the newly announced Android 12.
The publication also revealed that the company might release the upcoming Redmi K50 with MIUI 13 based on Android 11 early next year. Later on, both the Xiaomi 12X and Redmi K50 will receive the Android 12 update.
In other news, the company has also started testing Android 12 based MIUI 13 on some older smartphones. These older devices include Redmi K40, Mi 11, Mi Mix 4, and Mi 11 Ultra. So, users of these Xiaomi devices will soon receive the Android 12 update in the coming months.
Unfortunately, users can’t test the new version of Xiaomi custom skin right now as it is for the internal testers only. And the company hasn’t released any beta build of its upcoming custom rom.
