Nubia today announced The Red Magic 8 Pro, a gaming phone targeted towards gamers. The phone will be available globally for those users who are interested in buying a gaming phone from the 2nd of February. Check out the detailed specifications below.

The design language and look of the device are different from the normal flagship devices. The back of the device has a unique and unfriendly design with a triple rear camera placed at the center of the back in a vertical alignment.

If we talk about the specifications then there is no comprise on this as it is a gaming phone and it is meant for a hardcore long-duration of gaming. So, it comes with top-of-the-line specifications that include a great high-refresh rate display, the fastest chip on the market, and a durable battery.

Upfront is a flat 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED display panel that supports a 120Hz fast refresh rate which makes gaming smooth, DC dimming, a 960Hz touch sampling rate, and a Gorilla Glass 5 Protection. These specifications make this display one of the best on the market.

For internals, there is a top-of-the-line flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. There are two RAM options that include a 12GB and 16GB along with two storage options i.e. 256GB or 512GB. The device also comes with an ICE 11.0 cooling system which cools down the processor and maintains the temperature during an intense session of high-octane and power-hungry games.

It is equipped with a massive 6000 mAh battery that supports 65W wired fast charging and there is a 65W fast charger included in the box. It runs on Android 13 out of the box with some minor addition from Nubia.

Gaming devices usually don’t have a great camera system but Nubia provides a better-than-expected camera system in Red Magic 8 Pro consider being a gaming phone. There is a triple rear camera system that includes a 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL GN5 sensor as a primary lens, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2 MP macro sensor. For selfies and video calls, there is a 16 MP Selfie shooter at the top center of the display.


There are two storage variants to choose from. The 12GB + 256GB storage variant is priced at $649 while the 16GB + 512GB storage variant is priced at $799. Considering this pricing, this is one of the most affordable gaming phones on the market when it goes for sale next month.
