OnePlus Ace with MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset launched

OnePlus launched another mid-range device dubbed as OnePlus Ace as the first device for it’s Ace series. The phone comes with features like a 150W fast charging technology and is equipped with custom design MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC under the hood. Let’s have a detailed look at the specifications of the device.

OnePlus Ace Specifications:

OnePlus Ace sports a 6.7-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 1080*2412 pixel resolution and a 120 Hz dynamic refresh rate. This display has a 20:9 aspect ratio, can reach up to 950 nits of peak brightness, and is protected by the 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5. There is a center punch hole cut out at the top for the 16 MP Samsung’s ISOCELL S5K3P9 sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

The device is equipped with a custom-made MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max octa-core Soc with a dedicated game-only graphics chip. The chipset is paired with either 8GB or 12GB of LPDRRD5 RAM and there are three storage options available. Users can choose from 128GB, 256GB and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.

On the rear side is a triple rear camera setup which contains a 50 MP Sony IMX 766 main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and it supports optical image stabilization. It is the same sensor that we have seen in the OnePlus 9RT as the main sensor While the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro had this sensor as an ultra-wide shooter. The primary sensor is paired with an 8 MP Sony IMX 355 ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 2 MP GC02M1 macro camera.

The device runs on ColorOS 12.1 on top of Android 12 out of the box. It has a 4500 mAh battery cell that supports 150W wired fast charging along with a 5G and 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth v5.2, Wi-Fi 6, USB Type-C, NFC, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and a magnetometer.

Pricing and Availability:

The base 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at CNY 2499 which translates to roughly $380 or INR 29,600, the 8GB and 256GB storage variant is priced at CNY 2699 which is equal to roughly $410 or INR 31,900, the 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage variant is priced at CNY 2999 (roughly $460 or INR 35,400) and the higher end 12GB and 512GB storage variant is priced at CNY 3499 (roughly $540 or INR 41,400). It is available in two color options i.e., Black and blue, and is available for sale in China as of now. OnePlus Ace might launch in India as OnePlus 10R as per some rumors and speculations.
