Jumping into the bandwagon of foldable, Oppo will finally release Oppo Find N as its first foldable smartphone.
At this point, foldable is not a new technology as Samsung, Motorola, and Huawei have already launched multiple generations of foldable smartphones with Samsung being the most successful among the three.
We have heard rumors about Oppo’s foldable smartphone previously and now the company has finally shared the launch date of its first foldable along with a brief teaser.
In an official Tweet, Oppo shared a blog post from its Newly appointed Chief Product Officer or CPO Pete Lau confirming the launch date and a few details about its upcoming foldable smartphone dubbed as Oppo Find N.

Pete Lau said that it took Oppo four years to develop a foldable smartphone. They have already developed a prototype in 2018 but the company didn’t disclose it back then. Lau says Oppo Find N represents four years of “intense R&D” and sixth generation of prototypes. He said that the company didn’t want to release a foldable smartphone without a complete product. Other companies like Samsung and Huawei launched multiple generations of foldable with few flaws, Oppo postponed the launch as its foldable was not perfect.
He said that this device will start a new era of smartphones as “the industry has hit a wall after a decade of rapid development”.
He further said in a blog post that “Whether it’s fast charging, high refresh rates, mobile photography covering several focal lengths, or 5G connectivity, smartphone development has reached a limit that requires new ways of thinking and new approaches to continue innovating.”
The upcoming foldable will also solve the notable issues of other foldable like the crease on the inner display when unfolding the device and durability. Furthermore, the company also said that Oppo Find N has “perhaps the best hinge and display designs available today.”
Here is the brief teaser shared by the company.
The company didn’t disclose the exact specifications of the device in the press release but we have some rumored specifications.
There are rumors that the device will get an 8-inch LTPO OLED inner display with a 120 Hz higher refresh rate. While the cover display will be a standard 60 Hz panel having a punch hole for the selfie camera. The teaser and image released by the company show that the device is thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold 3 when it’s folded.
On the rear side, there will be a triple camera system with a 50 MP main camera lens, 16 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 13 MP lens. There might be a 32 MP selfie shooter on the cover display.
According to rumors, Oppo Find N will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Chipset coupled with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.
There will also be a 4500 mAh battery with the support of 65W fast charging as well as Color OS 12 based on Android 12 out of the box.
As mentioned above, the mentioned specifications are just based on rumors and nothing confirmed by the company. So, we will let you know about the details when the device goes official on 15th December.
