Pixel Phones to Get a Dedicated Google Bard Widget Soon

Researchers at 9to5Google spotted a code in the latest Google Bard tool – concerning it’s integration with the Pixel phones.

While there’s no confirmation from Google yet, this may soon be forming a framework for all of Android. The leak suggests a dedicated Bard widget for Pixel phones – that may allow users to ask the AI chatbot anything, similar to ChatGPT.

Google Bard in Pixel Phones

Watching the grand reception of ChatGPT, tech giants like Microsoft and Google are investing heavily to train their similar models recently. While Microsoft pegged it’s offerings to GPT-4(also runs ChatGPT), Google is making it’s tool called Bard.

While it’s evident that Google Bard is notably lagging behind ChatGPT(and Microsoft’s Bing Chat), the former is making huge investments to make it better and expand. In this pursuit, we see the company pinning Bard to it’s native smartphones – Pixel Series!

As per 9to5Google, a new code found in the Bard’s latest version points to it’s integration within Pixel Phones. Though this doesn’t give Bard a big push, it certainly sets the framework for launching this tool on Android phones. And when every OEM agrees to integrate Bard into their native devices, this would eventually transform the whole ecosystem for good.

Well, as of now, Google Bard is only available through it’s website, similar to ChatGPT. And it’s implementation within Pixel Phones is still unclear, apart from the tool coming as a dedicated widget. It’s also unclear if it’s capable of doing anything else other than answering simple questions.

Experts have warned that generative AI tools like Bard are prone to offering unreliable and extreme solutions for sensitive issues, including climate change and anti-Semitism. Though Google said it’s working to limit the processing of such queries, it’s still far away from being perfect.

Google is expected to talk about more AI-related stuff at it’s upcoming I/O event, where it may add and state any changes coming to the Bard.
