POCO has officially confirmed the global launch of its new F9 series, which includes POCO F9 Pro and POCO F9 Ultra. The two smartphones will be unveiled globally on September 1 during an online launch event. The company has also revealed the design and colour options of both models.
The POCO F9 Ultra has been showcased in a Dark Cherry colourway, while the F9 Pro will be available in Aurora Green. The revealed designs further support reports that the two smartphones are rebranded versions of the REDMI K100 Pro and REDMI K100 Pro Max, respectively.
POCO has also confirmed key chipset details. The F9 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the same flagship processor used in the company’s previous F8 Ultra. Meanwhile, the F9 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V-Series. Although the V-Series chip retains the same CPU architecture, it reportedly has a smaller GPU with eight compute units instead of 12, along with reduced on-chip GPU memory.
According to recent leaks, the POCO F9 Pro will pack a 6,330mAh battery, while the F9 Ultra is expected to feature an 8,050mAh battery. These capacities are reportedly smaller than those of their REDMI counterparts, while most other specifications are expected to remain unchanged.
In terms of pricing, the POCO F9 Pro is tipped to start at around €799, whereas the F9 Ultra could carry a price tag of approximately €999.
