We can now assume that people have been waiting for another game, Risk of Rain 3, that will be added to this series. Presently, Risk of Rain has two titles, both available to play on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5 and PC. The game is all about fighting off the randomly spawning bosses and enemies on a mysterious planet. You get the option to play solo or in a group of three.
It’s 2nd title was the development of it’s 1st one, and it came out in 2020, having a similar storyline but different gameplay. The foremost title was launched back in the year 2013, and it was a 2D game, whereas the 2nd one was a 3D. After seeing the success of it’s first titles, the developers of this game came up with it’s second iteration. The fans now have been questioning the third title. As the second title witnessed a fair share of it’s success, so expecting it’s third title is definitely not out of the question. What do we all know so far about the third title? Here, we will be discussing the release date of Risk of Rain 3, and also the possibility that this game is the prequel to the previous game.
Release Date of Risk of Rain 3:
After the release of the second title, the developers of the game released an anniversary update in January 2021. Even a paid DLC was released in 2022’s 1st March. This added new bosses, enemies and maps to this game. The developers are currently working on improving the gameplay experience of the second title of Risk of Rain, so expecting a third title now would be a bit early. Sometimes around 2025 or 2026, we could see the Risk of Rain 3.
Expected platforms: Switch, Xbox, PC, PS4, PS5,
For the expected platforms now, we can expect it’s list to remain the same. Certainly, we will see the title coming to the PlayStation and PC. However, it is uncertain whether the game will be coming to the PlayStation 4 if another PlayStation comes up by the time the game is released. Though, it must be available for the PS5.
Now, if we talk about Xbox, this game must come to the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. If by the time the game is released, a new Xbox console is released, we can see the game on the new console as well. When it comes to the Nintendo Switch, it is now quite challenging to predict as of now. If the title of this gameplay stays as demanding as the second one, it must work pretty well with the Nintendo switch. But if it’s developers take it up a notch, we will require a bumped up version of the present Nintendo Switch in this market.
