Galaxy A54

Samsung today announced it’s Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34 devices in the budget category. Both these devices are part of Samsung’s bestselling “A series” and are the successor of last year’s Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A33 respectively. Check out the detailed specifications of these devices.

Samsung Galaxy A54 specifications:

The device looks similar to this year’s Samsung Galaxy S23 device. It has a triple rear camera setup at the back and each camera lens is placed separately in a circular ring. It has a plastic back and a flat display. Since it is a mid-range device so the bezels are quite prominent and there are rounded edges that make the device comfortable to hold.

Galaxy A54

On the front is a 6.4-inch FHD+ super AMOLED display with a fast 120Hz refresh rate. The display has a screen-to-body ratio of 82.9 percent and comes with a pixel resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 403 ppi. There is a punch-hole cut at the top center of the display which houses a 32MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. The selfie camera can also record 4k and 1080p videos at 30 fps.

The device features Samsung’s own octa-core Exynos 1380 chipset based on 5nm fabrication and it comes with a Mali-G68 GPU. The chipset is paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM with a storage option of up to 256 GB. There is also support for a Micro SD card for storage expansion.

There is a triple camera system on the rear side headlined by a 50MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization, and f/1.8 aperture, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture.

Samsung Galaxy A54 is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging. It runs on One UI 5.1 based on Android 13 out of the box. For security purposes, there is an under-display fingerprint scanner at the bottom section of the display.

Samsung Galaxy A34 specifications:

The Galaxy A34 is the cheapest among the two devices and carries the design language of the Galaxy A series. There is a triple rear camera setup and the device looks similar to the A54 from the back.

On the front is a slightly bigger 6.6-inch FHD+ super AMOLED display with a 120Hz fast refresh rate. The display has a screen-to-body ratio of 84.9 percent and comes with a pixel resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 390 ppi. There is a slightly old-fashioned water drop notch at the top center which houses a 13MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Galaxy A34

For this device, Samsung has opted octa-core Mediatek Dimensity 1080 chipset based on 6nm fabrication instead of it’s own Exynos chipset. The chipset is paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM with up to 256GB of internal storage.  There is also support for a Micro SD card for storage expansion

For optics, there is a 48MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization, an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP macro lens with a 2.4 aperture. The rest of the specifications are the same for both devices.

Pricing:

Both of these devices are 5G devices and Samsung Galaxy A54 will start at € 489 for the base model while the Galaxy A34 starts at a little lower € 389 for the base model. These devices will be available in March for Middle East, European and South East Asian countries.
