Samsung Galaxy A82

Previously, we have seen the leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy A82 showcasing the device’s design and camera setup.

From the leaked images, it is clear that this time Samsung goes for the basic design similar to its other A series devices. This time it used a trip camera set up in a vertical alignment rather than a flipping camera used in the Galaxy A80.

Now, the South Korean telecom company, SK Telecom lists the device for Pre-order. This device also goes by the name of Samsung Quantum2, which we have heard in recent days.

This device is not up for Pre-order in other markets and it is unclear whether it will make ways to other markets or remain South Korea exclusive.

Last year, Samsung released The Galaxy A Quantum which is dubbed as a modified version of the Galaxy A71. This Galaxy A Quantum was launched in South Korea only in partnership with SK telecom. This year the SK telecom is marketing this device as a successor to the last year’s Galaxy A Quantum (Galaxy A71).

This Quantum2 comes with a similar built-in dedicated SoC for Quantum moniker devices. A convenient element for multiple tools that depends on cryptographic security keys. The device comes with the QRNG SoC, which we haven’t seen in any other devices and is only South Korea exclusive.

The device has interesting specifications, which gives us an indication of what the global audience will get when it will be released in the international market.

The device boasts an enormous 6.7-inch display, the display panel is a 1440p AMOLED panel with a higher 120Hz refresh rate. At the bottom of the display is the under-screen fingerprint scanner similar to what we have seen in the recent Galaxy A series devices.

Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC, it is not the latest flagship chipset but it is still more powerful than the Snapdragon 720G SoC we have seen in the Galaxy A52 and A72 this year. Samsung Galaxy A82 comes with a combination of 6GB of RAM and 128GB expandable storage options.

On the rear side are the triple camera setup aligned in a vertical array and an LED flashlight. The main camera lens is the 64MP sensor which has image stabilization. Beneath the main sensor is the 12MP ultrawide lens and the 5MPmacro lens. On the display is the 10MP selfie camera housed in a centered punch-hole cutout.

This device has a decent battery of 4500 mAh but the company hasn’t revealed the details about fast charging and wireless charging.

SK Telecom is selling this device for 699,600 Won which is equivalent to $620. So this is an upper mid-range device which is launched at a quite competitive price.

The Samsung Galaxy Quantum2 has a model number SM-A826S, so it shows that this device may get an international release as the Samsung Galaxy A82.

In 2019, Samsung released The Galaxy A80 with unique flipping cameras which serve as both the rear camera and the selfie camera. Galaxy A80 was released with the Snapdragon 730 mid-range chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of UFS 2.1 non-expandable storage.
