The South Korean giant, Samsung has been aggressively launching new budget smartphones to strengthen its position in that segment. The brand has beaten the long-reigning Redmi in India in the last quarter. Now, more leaks regarding the upcoming Galaxy A02 hint the brand’s future to be stronger.
Samsung Galaxy A02 Specifications Leaked

The next budget smartphone from Samsung – Galaxy A02 was already seen visiting the Bluetooth SIG certification earlier. While it’s recorded to posses the Bluetooth v4.2, more leaks rolled now reveals further details about the handset. These include the model name, battery capacity, storage and chipset.
The phone was spotted lately in Latin America’s Centro de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento em Telecomunicações, a Research and Development Center in Telecommunications. There it was certified with the battery specifications, listing in TUV Rheinland with a rated capacity of 4800mAh and a typical capacity of 5000mAh.
Further, the handset was tagged with a model number as SM-A025M/DS and HQ-50S code for the battery. Earlier listings in various certifications reveal the phone to have a Qualcomm chipset, probably a Snapdragon 450 SoC and a 3GB of RAM. Other rumours suggest the phone to come with a 5.7″ of HD+ display with a 720p resolution and a dual-rear camera set-up.
These are touted to be of a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor, with 8MP sensor at the front. While there’s no word regarding the official launch yet, it’s predicted to come in December this year, considering the timeline of its predecessor’s launch last year.
The Galaxy A01 has almost similar specifications, with no support to the fingerprint sensor and fast charging as listing in the budget segment. It’s expected that Galaxy M02, another similar budget handset may be unveiled alongside Galaxy A02 when launched.
