We are just a few months shy of the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series which is expected to launch in February next year. And hence, some leaks of the upcoming Galaxy flagship appeared online and gave us a hint at what we could expect from the smartphone. Now, there is a new confirmation from Qualcomm that the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset globally.
We have already heard the news that Samsung is planning to launch the upcoming flagship worldwide with the Qualcomm chipset ditching it’s own Exynos chipset. Previously, Samsung launched it’s flagship S series with two chipsets – Qualcomm chipset being used in the devices launched in North America, South Korea, and some European countries while Exynos chipset being used in devices launched in the rest of the world.
However, there is a growing concern among users over Exynos chipsets as Samsung flagship devices with Exynos chipsets have heating issues as well as performance issues as compared to Qualcomm chipsets. This may be the reason that Samsung wants to launch all of it’s upcoming flagship devices with Qualcomm chipsets.
The news was confirmed by Qualcomm’s CFO Akash Palkhiwala during it’s recent earnings call with investors. He confirmed that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 series will be powered by Qualcomm chipsets completely worldwide. Previously, 75 percent of the Galaxy S22 series used the Qualcomm chipset while 25 percent came with the Exynos chipset.
Earlier, there were news that the upcoming Galaxy flagship devices will be powered by Qualcomm chipset due to a multi-year deal between Qualcomm and Samsung. The upcoming Galaxy flagship S series includes The Samsung Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, and these devices are expected to be announced in February.
The top-of-the-line Galaxy S23 ultra is rumored to come with Samsung-made 200 MP primary camera along with three other cameras. If this is true then it will be the first Samsung device to come with a 200MP camera system and joining the likes of Xiaomi and Motorola who already launched a device with a 200MP primary camera.
Apart from the camera and chipset improvement, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series seems to be an incremental upgrade as compared to it’s predecessor. We also expect some improvements in the battery life and display quality. From the early leaks and rumors, the design and the size of the devices look almost similar to it’s predecessor.
