Samsung releases two flagship series devices every year. There is the S Series in the first half of the year and the Note series which is released in the second half of the year. Now the Note series is being replaced by the Foldables as Samsung placed an end to it’s Note series in 2020. As Samsung released The Galaxy S22 earlier this year, now they’re planning to launch the next generation of it’s foldable in the second half of this year. These foldable devices are The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Both these foldable devices have been in the rumors for quite some time and now they are the latest rumors about these devices which reveals the chipset powering these foldable.
I confirm again that Fold4 and Flip4 will use TSMC Snapdragon 8 gen1 plus (SM8475)

Popular tipster Ice Universe has revealed some information regarding the chipset powering the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Both of these devices will feature the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chipset which is the successor of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 launched in December 2021.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus is an upgraded version of 8 Gen 1 and will come with a performance boost as compared to it’s predecessor.
The 8 Gen 1 Plus SoC will have the model number SM8475 and is said to be built on the TSMC 4nm fabrication process. It’s predecessor the 8 Gen 1 which we have seen in many flagship devices this year is built on Samsung’s 4nm fabrication process.
But there are some news that Qualcomm pushed the launch of it’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 plus from it’s original release date to the second half of this year due to the lockdown imposed in China because of the rise in new Covid-19 cases. So if Samsung wants to launch it’s next generation of foldable devices with the 8 Gen 1 Plus SoC then they have to delay the launch further or if they stick to the original launch date then this information might be wrong.
Samsung did not confirm the news regarding the launch of it’s upcoming foldable with 8 Gen 1 Plus SoC so it is better to take this news with a grain of salt. If we talk about some leaked information about both these foldable then Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 will come with the same 4400 mAh battery that we see in it’s predecessor. While the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will come with a slightly bigger 2-inch outer display, and a bigger battery than it’s predecessor. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 may also come with Samsung Ultra Thing Glass Or UTG display and will support S Pen. It is also rumored to come with the S Pen built in just like the Galaxy S 22 ultra.
