Sony Merged PS Now and PS Plus into One Subscription as PlayStation Plus

Making the PlayStation subscription direct and easy, Sony today unveiled a new pack called PlayStation Plus. This is the combination of current PS Plus and PS Now subscriptions.

Starting from June this year, all PlayStation users will have to choose from either of the three tiers Sony put before them with a revamped PlayStation Plus subscription. Also, the company announced a handful of games at the time of rolling this new subscription.

An All-New PlayStation Plus Subscription

As Sony noted on it’s blog, the revamped PlayStation Plus will have the following tiers to choose from;

PlayStation Plus Essential
Here you get all the features from the current PlayStation Plus subscription, like the cloud storage for saving games, exclusive discounts, online multiplayer access, and two monthly downloadable games. This subscription costs $9.99 per month, $24.99 per quarter, or $59.99 per year.

PlayStation Plus Extra
This tier includes all the features from the Essential pack plus a selection of up to 400 PS4 and PS5 games. This pack starts from $14.99 per month, $39.99 per quarter, or $99.99 per year.

PlayStation Plus Premium
And finally, the Premium tier consists of all the features from both Essential and Extra, and up to 340 games including PS3 titles which you can stream through the cloud. This pack gets you to access to all the classic games available in both streaming and download options, including original PlayStation, PS2, and PSP games.

And it’s priced at $17.99 per month, $49.99 per quarter, or $119.99 per year. And one of the best benefits here, Sony lets users try select games before buying them in a time-limited trial model.

Starting June this year, all PlayStation can subscribe to either of the above three tiers. And the current PlayStation Now customers will be upgraded to the newly announced PlayStation Plus Premium tier without any additional cost.

This will be available in Asia before expanding to North America, Europe, and other areas, and Sony brings games like “Death Stranding,” “God of War,” “Marvel’s Spider-Man,” “Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales,” “Mortal Kombat 11” etc at the time of launch.
