While companies like Elon Musk’s Starlink coming to rescue Ukraine. As the war situation doesn’t seem to settle anytime soon, more tech companies are joining the movement to pressure Russia in it’s harsh actions. And the recent one on this list is Spotify, the Swedish music platform.

Citing Russia’s invasion against Ukraine, Spotify today announced shutting down it’s only office in Russia. The company has set up this office recently after the Russian government passed a law requiring all foreign tech companies to have local offices by 2022.

While Apple and TikTok too complied, companies like Meta, Telegram, and Twitter are yet to set up offices in Russia. Besides closing the office for an indefinite period, Spotify also said it will delist the Russian state-media channels like RT and Sputnik News from it’s platform.

This is because they’re said to be spreading the Russian government propaganda. These channels are already banned in the EU and Canada, while US people are still able to access them. Further, Spotify will downrank the other Russian content on it’s platform, making them hard to be reachable by it’s users.
