Spotify, the hugely popular app to stream music and podcast is revamping your library section on its mobile app. The overhaul of your library will enhance the user experience and make it easier for them to find songs and podcasts in their playlist.

The music streaming service believes that the ever-growing list of music makes it difficult for users to find their desired song or podcast quickly. To make things easier they are redesigning Your library section on its mobile app.

With the new update, the streaming app dumps the tab view found in the previous version. Instead of Tab views now users will get the dynamic filters which let them easily switch between music, artists, playlists, and podcasts. There is also an option to use more than one filter at a time to narrow down the search result. Like streamers can use filter “Albums” with “Download together so the app will show only the downloaded albums in Your library section. It will easily help the users to find only the downloaded albums on their playlist.

Spotify also improves the sorting option in the app, now streamers can sort their songs alphabetically or by recently played or even by the name of Artists.

Additionally, users can now have the option to pin up to four playlists on the top of your library. There is also a grid view option to change the layout of the playlists.

According to the official statement from Spotify:

“Your collection of music and podcasts is a representation of you—and it’s something deeply personal. But with 5,000+ hours of content released globally every day on Spotify and hundreds of those saved in Your Library, we know it’s crucial to be able to quickly find what you’re looking for, jump back into your latest discovery, or rediscover a beloved track you saved years ago”.

Spotify new features:

  • There is a search bar on the top of your library now to search the title using the name or artist name.
  • Dynamic filters let you find the title using the filters. Users can use multiple filters at a time or use a single filter to narrow down the search result. Dynamic filters include artists, albums, playlists, podcasts. Find the desired title and tap to download button next to it for offline listening.
  • Enhanced sorting option lets you sort titles based on alphabetical order, or by recently played or even by the artist’s name.
