TCL, a Chinese electronic giant, has patented a unique design for its smartphone. This design is unique in the sense that no other company has ever thought of working on it.

This new patented design is a futuristic similar to the gadgets from the Sci-fi movies. In the original design, the selfies camera is under the display, which gives a full-screen experience. And on the rear side, the cameras are invisible and is not visible to the naked eye.

Smartphones with the under-display selfie cameras will be available in large number from the next year. This year Asus ZTE Axon 20 will be the first phone with the under-display camera. It will launch on 1st September 2020 and will be a commercial phone for the general public.

In the new patented design of TCL, we came across a few design images. From the photos, the phone has a full-screen display without any punch hole and cutout. But the bezels look quite prominent as of today’s standard. The selfie camera is housed under the display as stated by the patent description.

The most highlighted feature of the design is on the rear side as the rear cameras are not visible. The body is thicker on the top where the rear camera is placed.

This technology looks similar to that of the OnePlus Concept one phone. OnePlus also displays a “Concept One” phone earlier this year with hidden back cameras. That phone also has a glass back, which changes its colour.

The TCL patented phone also has the buttons on the right side, which seems to be volume rocker. On the left side, there is no button, and at the bottom, there is a Type-C port.
