After mandating the Blue subscription to all verified users, Elon Musk now says that Twitter will prioritize accounts with verified badges in internal searches and tweet replies.

This was revealed in an interview, where he also talked about creating earning opportunities for content creators. Accused organizations are trying to manipulate public opinion, Musk said eliminating the bots on Twitter is the only solution to make it better for everyone.

Weighing Verified Users Over Others

Since day one of Elon Musk’s takeover, we’re seeing substantial changes happening on Twitter. Some include UI changes, job cuts, revamped subscriptions, etc. Amidst all these, the new boss Elon Musk revealed what the new Blue subscription offers to those who get it.

Earlier, he revealed that anyone subscribing to Twitter Blue would get a verified badge on their profile – displaying them as the legitimate account holder of who they say they are. Now, Musk says that these specific accounts will be prioritized in the platform’s internal search and in tweet replies.

In an interview, Musk talked about how the organizations are trying to manipulate the public’s opinion and how Twitter bot accounts and trolls are used for that. And a solution to that is turning as many general users of the platform into paid subscribers.

He goes on to justify his statement by saying that subscribers get a lot more than just a verified badge for $8 a month, with some including long-form video, audio, and podcasts. Further, he talked about creating earning opportunities for content creators on Twitter.

People often share links to YouTube and TikTok – taking followers outside Twitter for more details. And to change that, Musk wanted to turn Twitter into a similar platform that offers everything they wanted. Thus, video and audio sharing capabilities aside the regular tweets.
