The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is an Android phablet smartphone designed, developed and marketed by Samsung Electronics as part of the Samsung Galaxy Note series. It was unveiled on 9 August 2018, as the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

The 128 GB model has 6 GB of RAM while the 512 GB has 8 GB of RAM. All models also have a microSD card slot as well potentially maxing out the phones storage to nearly a Terabyte of data.

The Note 9 has IP68 water & dust resistance and a USB-C connector that supports Samsung DeX without a dock and the phone also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack along with AKG tuned stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

Transfer Content Using Wi-Fi
Audio Pairing:

Make sure the Smart Switch app is installed on both phones, and place the two phones within 4 inches of each other.
Launch Smart Switch on both phones, and then touch WIRELESS on both phones. Touch SEND on the old phone, and then on the new phone, touch RECEIVE. On the new phone, select the operating system of the old phone. Touch CONNECT on the old phone. The phones should connect at this point, with a message appearing confirming connection.

If the connection was successful, proceed with Transferring Content.
If unsuccessful, proceed with Manual Connection.

 

Manual Connection:

 

If you had trouble connecting wirelessly, don’t fret. It’s a cinch to connect manually.

If the phone doesn’t connect automatically, a message appears stating “If the devices take too long to connect automatically, enter the PIN below on the receiving device to connect them manually.” Touch Enter PIN on the new phone. The phones will be connected. Proceed with Transferring Content.

Transfer Content

Finally, let’s get to the good stuff! Transfer music, photos, videos, and more so you’re finally all moved to your new phone.

On the old phone, select the content categories you would like to transfer and touch SEND. The new phone will prompt you to accept the transfer. Touch RECEIVE. After the transfer is complete, the new phone displays a summary of the transfer. Touch CLOSE APP.

For Galaxy to Galaxy transfers, app downloads are automatically moved over if “Apps” were selected.

Transfer Content Using a USB Cable:

Because we like to give you options, you have several ways to transfer content. Connect the two phones using the old phone’s USB cable and the USB-OTG adapter that came with your new phone.

If there is a large amount of data to be transferred, use Wi-Fi in order to keep both phones charged during the transfer.

Launch Smart Switch on both phones, and then select USB CABLE. Touch ALLOW on the old phone. Smart Switch will search the old phone for transferable content. Select the content you want to transfer and then touch TRANSFER.

Transfer Content Using External Storage:

Got a ton of photos saved on a microSD card? Learn how to transfer content via external storage. Before you begin, insert a microSD card or USB OTG storage into the old phone.

Launch Smart Switch on the old phone, and then touch More Options. Touch External storage transfer, and then touch BACK UP. Select the content you want to back up and then touch BACK UP. When the backup is complete, remove the storage from the old phone and insert it into the new phone.

Launch Smart Switch on the new phone, touch More Options, and then touch External storage transfer. Touch RESTORE, select the content you want to restore, and then touch RESTORE.

 

Transfer Content iCloud:

Launch Smart Switch on the new phone, and then touch WIRELESS. Touch RECEIVE, and then select iOS. Enter your Apple ID and password, and then touch SIGN IN. Select the basic content you want to transfer, and then touch IMPORT. Select additional content you want to transfer and then touch IMPORT.
