Vivo has started revealing key camera details of its upcoming X500 series, which is set to launch in China next month. The lineup is expected to include the Vivo X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max, with the Pro models receiving major upgrades to their telephoto cameras.
The Vivo X500 Pro Max will feature a 200MP Zeiss APO super telephoto camera. According to Vivo, the camera will use a 1/1.4-inch BluePrint and Samsung HP0 sensor combination and support hardware-based 4x In-Sensor Zoom (ISZ). The high-resolution sensor is expected to offer two stages of lossless zoom while maintaining a high level of detail.
The Pro Max will also support a 400mm telephoto extender lens, allowing users to capture distant subjects more effectively. It will feature CIPA 7.0-rated professional stabilisation, along with improved autofocus and subject-tracking capabilities.
Meanwhile, the Vivo X500 Pro will introduce a new 64MP Zeiss APO super telephoto camera with an 85mm focal length. It will use Vivo’s BluePrint sensor design paired with Sony’s LYTIA 610 sensor. The sensor reportedly uses a unique GG 1×1 and RB 2×2 pixel structure, designed to combine high resolving power with improved focusing performance.
Vivo says the 85mm focal length and full 64MP resolution will provide greater flexibility for cropping while retaining image detail. The APO lens technology builds on the approach first introduced with the Vivo X100 Pro.
Both Pro models will support CIPA 7.0 stabilisation, while their telephoto cameras will offer improved autofocus and subject tracking. For video recording, the cameras will support 4K at 120fps for slow-motion footage and 4K 60fps HDR video.
