WhatsApp is now working on another option that is been in demand for quite a long time. This option would add more privacy to users and give them control over who can see their content.
Currently, users have the option to change privacy settings to “everyone”, “your contacts” or “nobody” can view your last seen.
WABetaInfo reported that the Facebook-owned instant messaging app will soon add another option to its privacy setting. This option will allow users to add specific contacts to the list whom they want to hide their last seen.
Soon an option will be added in the privacy setting option. Users can access this option by visiting settings – account settings – privacy – last seen in WhatsApp.
In this way, users can select specific contact that will not be able to see their last seen. Similarly, this option will also be available for profile pictures and status.
It is a much-needed feature in the hugely popular instant messaging app. This might not be a new feature but an addition to the existing feature.
It helps users to comfortable share their contact details whom they don’t want to show their profile pictures or statuses or even last seen.
Users will be able to avoid any unnecessary interactions with people they don’t want to interact with. This type of option is already available to Facebook, Instagram, and even Snapchat. It gives users more privacy and they can freely use the platform without any worry.
Users who restrict others from seeing their last seen and status using this option will also not be able to see their last seen, profile picture, or status. It is something called Tit-for-tat as you are not willing to show them yours so WhatsApp automatically restricts you from seeing their last seen.
It is in development as reported by WABetaInfo so it won’t be available for users to test it out. It is neither available for the users in the beta channel right now. Soon it will be available for all once it is ready.
