WhatsApp

As the year is about to end in a few months, WhatsApp has announced to end its support for the older Android device. The messaging app owned by Facebook said that they will not work on some of the devices after 1st November 2021.

Every year the popular messaging app ends support for many older devices. The reason for this is that the app developer wants users to use the latest build of the OS. It is difficult for the developers to keep supporting the older versions of the OS so they stop developing apps for them.

Due to this reason, the Facebook-owned app will no longer provide support for those android phones running older Android versions. This time it is the Android OS 4.0.4 or lower. The app said that they will no longer support this Android OS after the next beta update of WhatsApp on Android.

If you are having an Android phone with those older versions then there is not much you can do. You will not get any further WhatsApp update after 1st November 2021 and your app will also stop working after some time.

The only option you have is to switch your device to a new version of Android to continue using the popular messaging app. Before that, you must have to take the backup of all your chats and important media file. Soon the app will also support the chat transfer from Android to iOS, So it is helpful if you are interested in switching to iOS from Android.
