Windows 10

Windows 10 support will come to an end on 14th October 2025 internal documents hinted. Microsoft is planning to launch the next generation of OS next week which is touted as Windows 11.

With the announcement of the next generation of the OS, it is expected that the current generation will come to an end someday. Ending support means the OS is officially dead and companies refer to it as EOL (End of Life). This is also done by the companies to force users to move to the successor and use the latest product.

The end of life for both windows 10 home and pro variant has been posted by the company on its official site. Microsoft stated that they would end the support for the latest update for Windows 10 as the company moves towards the next generation of the OS.

The company will be having an event on 24th June 2021 where it is expected to announce the successor of Windows 10. Recently the company also started teasing about their plan for the windows update.

Microsoft officially didn’t announce the name of the upcoming Windows OS but Satya Nadella announced that the next generation of windows will be the most noteworthy update to the OS.

Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft stated at Windows build 2021:

“Soon we will share one of the most significant updates to Windows of the past decade to unlock greater economic opportunity for developers and creators. I’ve been self-hosting it over the past several months, and I’m incredibly excited about the next generation of Windows.”

Upcoming windows updates will bring many visual changes and a complete UI overhaul as some leaks suggest. Microsoft is also developing its Windows app store to rival Google and Apple and will open its app store to all developers.

It is expected that the company might change this deadline as many users take years to switch to the update of Windows OS. So, depending on the market share of Windows 10 in 2025, Microsoft might extend the deadline and give users more time for the transition.
