After many leaks and rumors, Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro goes official at an event in China today. Both the devices come with top-of-the-line specifications with all the bells and whistles.

The base model comes in a slightly compact size than the pro model while both the devices have the same flagship chipset.

Xiaomi 12 Specifications:

Xiaomi 12 comes with a compact design which is a welcome move in these days as it is easy to carry and handle with one hand. The device features a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120 Hz higher refresh rate made by Samsung.

The display is protected by the latest Corning Gorilla glass for better scratch protection and there is an under-display fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood is the latest flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Xiaomi 12 comes in three storage variants i.e., 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and a max-out 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. There is a 4500 mAh battery which supports 67W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging as well as 10W reverse wireless charging to charge other devices or gadgets. The device will ship with MIUI 12.5 out of the box while it will receive MIUI 13 in January.

On the rear side is a trip rear camera. There is a 50 MP Sony IMX 766 primary sensor with 1/1.56” size which is found in many devices in 2021. The two additional sensors on the rear side are a 13 MP ultra-wide lens and a 5 MP telephoto lens.

The base variant comes in three color options i.e., Pink, blue, and black. There is also a special limited edition green vegan leather variant as well. The base storage 8/128GB variant is priced at $580 or CNY 3699, the mid-tier variant 8/256GB is priced at $628 or CNY 3999, and the max out 12/256GB variant is priced at $690 or CNY 4399.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Specifications:

There is a very slight difference between the vanilla and the pro model of the 12 series. Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with a 6.73-inch LTPO panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate also made by Samsung. The display has a resolution of 1440p and a variable refresh rate that refreshes between 1-120 Hz depending on the content. There is corning gorilla glass protection for better scratch resistance and protection and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The pro model is also powered by the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. There are three storage variants i.e., 8/128GB, 8/256GB, and 12/256GB.

On the backside is the triple rear camera setup. There is a 50 MP Sony IMX 707 primary sensor, a 50 MP portrait lens, and a 50 MP ultrawide lens.

This device comes with a 4600 mAh battery which supports 120W fast wired charging and 50W wireless fast charging. It also comes with the MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out of the box while MIUI 13 update for this device will roll out in January.

The base storage variant 8/128GB is priced at $738 or CNY 4699, 8/256GB is priced at $785 or CNY 4999 and the max out variant 12/256GB is priced at $848 or CNY 5399.
