Xiaomi 18 Fold Leaks in Images With Trendy Short and Wide Design

Xiaomi’s next-generation foldable smartphone, the Xiaomi 18 Fold, has appeared in new hands-on images ahead of its September launch. The leaked images, shared on Weibo, reportedly show an engineering prototype, meaning the final retail design could still differ.

The prototype features a striking “Dark Cherry” red finish, a color that is expected to become increasingly popular among upcoming flagship smartphones. The rear panel also reveals a triple-camera setup housed inside a horizontal visor-style camera module, giving the device a distinctive appearance.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is expected to adopt a short-and-wide passport-style design, following a growing trend in the foldable smartphone segment. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the device will debut in September and will be the first smartphone powered by the company’s next-generation XRING O3 chipset.

The XRING O3 is shaping up to be one of Xiaomi’s most ambitious mobile chipsets yet. As per official claim the processor has achieved an impressive 5.22 million points on AnTuTu, putting it well ahead of smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The chipset uses a 10-core CPU configuration, with all cores classified as performance-oriented big cores.

Xiaomi has also claimed that the XRING O3 can surpass 15,000 points in multi-core testing, representing an approximately 60% improvement over its predecessor. Graphics performance has also received a major boost as well, thanks to the G2-Ultra NX GPU, which is claimed to deliver an 85% performance improvement while consuming around 64% less energy.
