Xiaomi’s upcoming Mix Fold 5 and HyperOS 4 have appeared in a fresh leak. The leaked promotional images reportedly showcase Xiaomi’s new “Liquid Glass”-inspired design language, while hands-on images offer a first look at the Mix Fold 5’s large inner display.
The upcoming foldable is expected to feature a wider, mini-tablet-like design when unfolded. Previous leaks suggested a roughly 4:3 or 7:5 aspect ratio for the internal screen, making it more suitable for multitasking, media consumption and productivity. The device is also expected to have a more rounded appearance compared with some of Xiaomi’s previous foldables.
According to recent reports, Xiaomi may launch the Mix Fold 5 earlier than its flagship smartphone lineup. Instead of debuting alongside the Xiaomi 18 Series, which is expected to arrive later in September, the foldable could reportedly be introduced in early September.
The software side of the leak is equally interesting. HyperOS 4 promotional images appear to reveal a significant visual refresh, with elements that resemble Apple’s newer Liquid Glass design approach. Translucent interface components, rounded elements and glass-like visual effects could become prominent features of Xiaomi’s next Android-based operating system.
HyperOS 4 is expected to arrive on several Xiaomi, REDMI and POCO smartphones, bringing not only visual changes but potentially new animations, system-level improvements and enhanced integration across Xiaomi’s device ecosystem.
