YouTube Vanced is Shutting Down Citing Legal Reasons

After being ordered by Google, the YouTube Vanced app operators decided to shut down their platform. They stated complying with this to avoid legal issues.

Yet, the operators of the Vanced app said they’ll keep their social channels live, but soon remove their app’s download links. YouTube Vanced is one of the prime option for everyone who wanted to access all of YouTube’s premium features for free.

The Demise of YouTube Vanced

Google’s plans for monetization of the traffic of YouTube are so clever, as it divided all the services YouTube is offering into features and started charging them. Most needed features like the ability to run YouTube in the background, playing music while locking the phone, blocking ads, etc are priced to the premium version, and in cases as separate apps.

To avoid all this, Android power users turned to the Vanced app, a YouTube mod application that offers all the original YouTube content, with premium features for free! The developers of the YouTube Vanced app have been developing the app so enthusiastically that, features like true dark mode and others are included.

And naturally, Google didn’t like this development. So it had sent a cease and desist order to Vanced app operators and ordered them to pull the plug for good. Complying with this, the operators of the Vanced app said

“We know this is not something you wanted to hear, but it’s something we need to do. We were asked to remove all references to ‘YouTube’, change the logo, and remove all links related to YouTube products.”

Though they’re shutting down the service, social channels like their Discord server, Telegram chat, and subreddit will be kept alive. Also, they confirmed to remove the links of the Vanced app soon.
