ZTE Axon 30 Ultra and the Axon 30 Pro unveiled with top-of-the-line specifications. And both of these devices will be available in the US and Canada for sale as well.
Two years ago, the US government placed a ban on the Chinese phone maker ZTE and stopped the company from using US-based hardware and software. Since then the ZTE devices haven’t been available in the US market for sale but now both the newly launched devices will be available for sale in the US and Canada.
ZTE launched the Axon 20 last year and the device got the attention of the tech geeks and nerds for being the first device to be commercially available with the in-display selfie camera.
This year ZTE Axon 30 Ultra and 30 Pro won’t be offering such technology as the in-display selfie camera. But both these devices come with flagship line specifications.
The company has focused mainly on cameras for both these devices and highlighted its camera the most in the official presentation.
ZTE Axon 30 Ultra Specifications:
The Ultra comes as the most beefed up device among the two. It comes with all the flagship-grade specifications anyone can imagine in a smartphone these days.
ZTE Axon 30 Ultra Display:
ZTE Axon 30 Ultra comes with the curved 6.67-inch OLED Display panel with an adaptive higher refresh rate of 144Hz. The refresh rate can be adjustable between 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, and 144Hz. The display has a touch sampling rate of 300Hz and has an FHD+ resolution with 1080*2400 pixels with 395 PPI density. It also has the support of HDR10+ and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
ZTE Axon 30 Ultra Internals:
As mentioned above the device comes with all the flagship internals. It comes with a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC with Adreno 660 GPU for better graphic-intensive tasks. You will also find this CPU+GPU combination in the Samsung S21 series and the OnePlus 9 series. The base variant comes with a combination of 8GB RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. You can also choose to have 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage or the maxed out variant with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. ZTE choose the LPDDR5X RAM for these devices which matches what the competition is offering.
ZTE Axon 30 Ultra Cameras:
They have made a lot of effort to improve the camera of this device and they highlighted the cameras most in the official presentation. The device has a 64MP triple camera setup on the rear side arranged in a vertical order along with the dual-tone LED flashlight. The main camera has a 64MP f/1.6 aperture Sony IMX686 sensor with optical image stabilization. Beneath the main sensor is another 64MP f/1.9 aperture sensor. Finally, there is a 64MP f/2.2 aperture ultra-wide lens to capture wide shots. It is the first device that has a triple camera setup and all the camera sensors are 64MP.
Under the cameras, there is an 8MP f/3.4 aperture periscope lens which offers 5x optical zoom and optical image stabilization.
For selfies, there is a 16MP single shooter housed in a punch hole cut-out on the top center of the display.
Other Specifications:
Apart from the above-mentioned specifications, the device comes with the usually Android 11 OS out of the box, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC for cashless transactions, USB Type-C 3.1. It also has a 4600 mAh battery which supports 66W fast charging.

This ultra model starts at $720 for the 8GB RAM variant and can go up to $1020 for the 12GB RAM variant. The company hasn’t disclosed the price of the 16GB RAM variant yet.
ZTE Axon 30 Pro Specifications:
The ZTE Axon 30 comes close in terms of specification to its bigger brother apart from few differences.
Display:
It has the same 6.67-inch OLED display panel but with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. This display panel is also a flat one compared to the Ultra model which has a curved display. Other display specifications of both the models are exactly the same like the resolution, PPI, HDR10+, and touch sampling.
Internals:
It also comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC but the base variant has less RAM than the Ultra model. The base variant comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 of internal storage. Users can also opt for the 8GB RAM and 128GB or 8GB RAM and 256GB storage option.
